Connect Salesforce to Claude
PlannedAsk Claude about accounts, opportunities and tasks in your Salesforce – through an MCP server that XenMCP runs in Germany.
Your address for Claudehttps://salesforce-acme.xenmcp.com/mcp
Since April 2026 Salesforce offers its own Hosted MCP Servers – but for larger editions and, according to Salesforce, for customers with Flex Credits. Many smaller teams have API access but no Hosted MCP.
For these cases XenMCP plans a Salesforce server built on the REST API: you store the credentials of an integration app, XenMCP starts the server in an isolated sandbox and gives you an address with OAuth for your AI client.
What you can ask Claude
- Which opportunities over €10,000 close this month?
- Show me all open tasks for the account Müller GmbH.
- Who is our contact at Example Inc. and when did we last talk to them?
- Summarise the pipeline by stage.
- Create a task "Follow up on quote" for the opportunity Project North.
Typical tools
query_records- Query records with SOQL (accounts, contacts, opportunities, tasks)
search- Full-text search across objects (SOSL)
describe_object- Show the fields and relationships of an object
aggregate- Totals and groupings, e.g. pipeline by stage
create_record- Create a record (only with approval)
update_record- Update a record (only with approval)
What you need to connect
- A Salesforce edition with API access: Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer or Performance; Professional only with the API add-on. Starter has no API access.
- An External Client App (OAuth client credentials) for a dedicated integration user
- A profile or permission set for that user that grants only the objects needed
- The instance URL of your org (e.g.
https://your-company.my.salesforce.com)
Security
- The server sees only what the integration user may see – keep its permissions as narrow as possible.
- Client ID and secret are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM and never appear in logs.
- Write tools are off by default; when switched on, your AI client asks before every change.
- Each server runs in its own sandbox (gVisor) in Germany; the call log holds only tool, status and duration.
- Your AI client (e.g. Claude by Anthropic) processes the results in its own infrastructure.
Good to know
If your org can use the Salesforce Hosted MCP Servers, connect them to Claude directly – you do not need XenMCP for that. XenMCP is meant for editions with API access but no Hosted MCP, such as Professional with the API add-on or Developer Edition.
Built on
We use the open server mcp-server-salesforce (tsmztech) (MIT), build the image ourselves from a pinned version and review the tool descriptions before release.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need XenMCP if Salesforce offers MCP itself?
No, not if your edition can use the Salesforce Hosted MCP Servers. XenMCP is for orgs with API access but without Hosted MCP.
Does this work with Salesforce Starter?
No. Starter has no API access, so no MCP server can reach your data.
Does everyone on the team see the same data?
The server works with the permissions of the integration user. You decide in the XenMCP admin area who in your organisation may use the server.
Is the Salesforce server available yet?
No, it is planned. Join the waitlist and we will get in touch as soon as it is ready.
